The Ellen Woodnick Mitzvah Mall promotes G’milut Chasadim (Acts of Loving Kindness) within our community and provides a meaningful holiday gift-giving alternative for our community. In a typical year, The Mitzvah Mall is a fair of non-profit organizations which promotes charitable giving. It is similar to a vendor fair. Every student in our school and community members come to the Mitzvah Mall to shop among the charities that are represented at different stations. At each station, donations for a particular charity may be purchased in amounts ranging from $1 to $18 in exchange for a certificate stating how the donated money will be used by that organization. This year, the Mitzvah Mall will be entirely virtual - we will still have opportunities to learn about the various organizations and to make selections, it will simply be online this year!
Everyone is welcome to participate! Below are instructions geared towards our religious school families: STEP 1:Talk with your child(ren) about whom they would like to honor this holiday season (teachers, grandparents, friends, etc). STEP 2:Go through this website and see which gifts you would like to purchase in exchange for donation certificates. STEP 3: Submit the shopping list with your child(ren) before December 1st. Step 4: Receive your donation certificates in the mail and give them as gifts to loved ones, teachers, etc.!
